"Present Danger", by Elizabeth Goddard

Rocky Mountain Courage Book #1

This is a soft mystery romance novel written by an author I became fan of some time ago. The first story in this series brings Terra Connors of the Montana Forest Service and Detective Jack Tanner in a thrilling romance set amid an investigation into a smuggling ring.

It opens with a bang...a plane crash and a disappearing pilot...setting off a search and rescue mission in the national forest. When Jack came across a body questions where asked and an investigation was launched. Working alongside Terra they discovered that the murdered victim had ties to a powerful and dangerous trafficker of archaeological artifacts. Soon the investigation took a deadly turn and we were sent into a deceitful web of crime and threats.

What a gripping and emotional page-turner. I enjoyed being challenged over the story as Jack and Terra are given cryptic clues along the way to unpuzzle the mystery. I tried to be one step ahead of them hard was it to figure out who was really behind all of this. Layer by layer eventually all was revealed...and once again I was left surprised....what an intense ride.

The style is smooth, the dialogue fresh and clean, the scenario well said and done and the characterization well drawn out. I loved that from start to finish we have non-stop and unpredictable action. I especially like Jack and Terra interaction and awe what a beautiful ending....I am left wanting more...:)

I received this ARC from the Publisher Revell via the First Reviewer Program for my thoughts: this is the way I see it
