"Kick", by Ty Patterson

Zeb Carter Short Stories #2

This is another perfect novella to zip through in not time. I love to read them from time to time and I am privileged to be on the author’s team and receive advance copy for review. I am not influenced by this gift and write my honest thoughts whether they are flattering or not. But after 34 excellent reviews I posted through the years I could only tell you that all of Mr. Patterson’s thrillers (short and full size) are true action thrillers from start to finish and that I have enjoyed every one of them.

“Kick” of course is not exception and the story takes us to Los Angeles with our protagonist taking center stage. Taking his morning run he rescued a young woman held down by a rapist. Reporting the incident to the LAPD it should have ended there...but no way ...when Zeb is involved all hell breaks loose...and as readers we are into one of those exciting and very captivating read. Of course 79 pages is way too short I was able to read this novella in one sitting, actually I think it is taking me longer to put words together for this review :).

My thoughts in a few words:

The plot is cleverly developed and filled with visual imagery and colourful characters. It moves at breakneck pace like a well-oiled thrill machine. What is not to like....well-done as usual.
